Discover Roscoe Village

Roscoe Village transports you back to a time when the Ohio and Erie Canal was bustling with Canal boats. Visit the restored 1830's Canal town and follow in the footsteps of living history, stroll through the gardens, tour the museums and exhibits and experience a horse-drawn canal boat ride on a section of the Ohio Erie Canal.

Upcoming Events

Throughout the year, festivals and special events mark the seasons. Autumn is a time for harvesting crops and communities in celebration. The Annual Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival is the longest-running tradition at Roscoe Village. In late October, artisans and food vendors converge on and along North Whitewoman Street and the scent of apple butter wafts from steaming kettles through crisp air.

Roscoe Village Experience

Roscoe Village is an idyllic painting come to life. Renowned illustrator and muralist Dean Cornwell vibrantly captured life on the banks of the Ohio and Erie Canal in a 24-by-8 foot mural to commemorate the sesquicentennial celebration of the founding of Coshocton.

"Fascinating Historical Gem of Ohio"

"Fascinating Historical Gem of Ohio. How wonderful that this little gem, Roscoe Village, has been lovingly restored. It is fascinating to learn about this part of Ohio's history. The canal used to run right along side Roscoe Village where Route 16 is now. All but one of the buildings is original to the site. Visiting was definitely a day well spent."
